Biosketch

Dr Peddy came to the University of Maryland from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) in November of 2021 as the inaugural Medical Director of the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PCICU) . At CHOP, she served as a senior staff cardiac intensivist in addition to the Director of Simulation for the Cardiac Center. Dr. Peddy earned her undergraduate degree in biology and history from Bucknell University, a master’s degree in biology from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and a medical degree with honors from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency and combined fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and Cardiology at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Pediatrics in general pediatrics, pediatric cardiology and pediatric critical care medicine. Dr. Peddy’s special interests include- cardiac simulation, cardiac ICU education curriculum development, quality improvement in PCICU
