Milford M. Foxwell, Jr., M.D. is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland Medical Center. He also serves as Associate Dean for Admissions at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
Dr. Foxwell received his undergraduate degree in 1975 from the University of Maryland College Park, and his medical degree in 1980 from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completes his internship in Internal Medicine at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C., and then returned to complete his residency at the University of Maryland Hospital and Baltimore Veterans Administration Medical Center. Dr. Foxwell served as chief resident in medicine at University of Maryland Hospital during the 1983-84 academic year.
Dr. Foxwell joined the faculty of the School of Medicine in 1984. He was appointed Assistant Dean for Admissions in 1989 and Associate Dean in 1990. During his time on the faculty his activities have centered around the selection of future physician-scientists and the teaching and mentoring of students on the wards. He continues to pursue his interest in the history of medicine and, in particular, of the University of maryland School of Medicine.
