Biosketch

Dr. Jamie Fields was born and raised in southwestern Virginia and received a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from University of Virginia’s College at Wise. She completed medical school at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. Her residency training was in general adult psychiatry at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. She was drawn to psychiatry due to the personal connections made through treatment that allow providers a unique glimpse into the human experience.  Dr. Fields is board certified in general adult psychiatry and has been faculty at University of Maryland, Midtown Campus since 2020. Professional interests include acute inpatient psychiatric stabilization and treatment of chronic, severe mental illness. When Dr. Fields isn’t at work, she enjoys yoga, horseback riding, and cross-stitching.
