Biosketch
Dr. D’Alessio grew up in New York where she completed a seven-year BA/MD program at Brooklyn College and SUNY Downstate Medical Center. She went on to do an internal medicine training and chief residency at NYU/Bellevue in Manhattan. She then moved to Massachusetts to study Pulmonary Medicine at Boston University and finally completed her training in critical medicine combined with a year experience in a lung transplant clinic at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, in New York City. Dr. D’Alessio is triple board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, and critical care medicine. She is currently living in Winchester, Virginia where she has been living for the last sixteen years. During her career, in Winchester, she has worked in private practice doing pulmonary critical care, solely in the intensive care unit as an intensivist, and now runs her own outpatient pulmonary practice in Winchester. Dr. D’Alessio continues to provide critical care services on a per diem basis at Meritus Medical Center, and occasionally as a locum tenems in the Virginia and Maryland hospitals. She, her husband, and four children live active lives in the Shenandoah Valley. In her free time Dr. D’Alessio enjoys painting, taking long walks, traveling, and spending time with her children.
