Center for Sports Medicine Health and Human Performance

The Center for Sports Medicine Health and Human Performance (CMHHP) is a partnership between the University of Maryland, Baltimore and the University of Maryland, College Park. CMHHP is an MPowering the State initiative.

The Center increases access to world-class sports medicine and occupational health services, as well as advances the discovery of innovative solutions to improve human health, performance and injury prevention and recovery.

The CSMHHP, though its programs and affiliations, engages in cutting-edge research in surgical and non-surgical treatment for sports injuries, concussion and traumatic brain injury management, and the role of exercise and performance injuries.

It will also include a state-of-the-art clinical space to serve premier sports medicine facility for patients in the Washington, DC region for orthopaedic sports medicine, traumatic brain injury and concussion, and sports and occupational health as well as for University of Maryland athletes, youth sport participants from Prince George's County, Olympic and professional athletes and occupational health support for first responders, law enforcement and military personnel.
