Postdoctoral Fellow

An NIH funded postdoctoral position is open in the laboratory of Dr. Vladimir Toshchakov at the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, University of Maryland School of Medicine.  The successful candidate will develop protein interaction inhibitors that block the adapter recruitment to activated Toll-like receptors (TLRs).  The planned study involves generation of recombinant TIR domains and extensive screening for drug-target co-crystallization conditions, followed by a comparative evaluation of a small series of candidate TLR inhibitors in cell culture experiments and small animal models of TLR-driven inflammation.  For more details, please see recent publication from our laboratory (for example Cell Reports 2015, 11(12):1941-52 and the Journal of Immunology 2018, 201(3); 995-1006) and contact the PI with specific questions.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree, with less than five years of postdoctoral experience.
