Academic Hospitalist

The Division of General Internal Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine has an opening for an academic hospitalist at the University of Maryland Medical Center-Midtown Campus beginning July, 2019.  This service provides 24/7 coverage for inpatient medicine floors at our affiliated hospital located in downtown Baltimore.  The bulk of the service will be in a teaching capacity with UMMC Midtown Campus house-staff, as well as non-teaching attending responsibilities on the Post-Acute Unit, Orthopedic pre-op evaluation, consultation on the inpatient Psychiatry Unit, and non-designated service patients.

Candidates must be board certified/board eligible in Internal Medicine and eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Maryland.  Ideal candidates will possess outstanding clinical and teaching skills and a strong committment to patient care.  Expected faculty rank is Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with the selected candidate's qualifications and experience.

Academic Hospitalist (3-309-1003/1006)

The General Internal Medicine Division in the Department of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine has an opening for an academic hospitalist at the University of Maryland Medical Center-Midtown Campus beginning mid March, 2019.  This service provides 24/7 coverage for inpatient medicine floors at our affiliated hospital located in downtown Baltimore.  The bulk of the service will be in a teaching capacity with UMMC Midtown Campus house-staff, as well as non-teaching responsibilities with attending responsibilities on the Post-Acute Unit, Orthopedic pre-op evaluation, consultation on the inpatient Psychiatry Unit, and non-designated service patients. 

Candidates must be board certified/eligible in internal medicine and eligible for an unrestricted license in the State of Maryland.  Ideal candidates will possess outstanding clinical and teaching skills and a strong commitment to patient care.  Expected faculty rank is Assistant Professor or higher, however, rank, tenure status and salary will be dependent upon selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.  We offer an excellent salary and benefits package.

Academic Hospitalist (3-309-1008/1009)

The General Internal Medicine Division in the Department of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine has an opening for academic hospitalists at the University of Maryland Medical Center-Midtown Campus (UMMC-MTC) located in downtown Baltimore.   These positions will provide daytime coverage on one of our inpatient internal medicine teaching services.  The bulk of the service will be in a teaching capacity with UMMC Midtown Campus house-staff, as well as students from the University of Maryland School of Medicine assigned to this service as part of their internal medicine clerskhip rotation.  These positions will also provide some non-teaching rclinical coverage on aPost-Acute Unit located within the hospital. 

Ideal candidates will possess outstanding clinical and teaching skills, and a strong commitment to quality patient care.  All candidates must be board certified/eligible in internal medicine and eligible for an unrestricted license in the State of Maryland.  Expected faculty rank is Assistant Professor or higher, however, rank, tenure status and salary will be dependent upon selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.  We offer an excellent salary and benefits package.
