Academic Internist/Outpatient Practice Medical Director (3-309-1063)

The General Internal Medicine Division of the Department of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine seeks a Medical Director to lead the General Internal Medicine ambulatory practice at the University of Maryland Medical Center-Midtown Campus (UMMC- MTC). Clinical responsibilities will include managing a panel of patients in primary care as well as participating in call coverage with other members of the team. This position will also provide educational supervision to medical students and residents, as the site serves as the ambulatory continuity practice for the UMMC-MTC Internal Medicine residency. Administratively, this position will be responsible for leading and managing the practice, engaging in outreach and education as well as service projects to provide visibility and benefit to the community, and seeking a multidisciplinary approach with other service providers to optimize patient experience and outcomes.

Candidates must be board certified/eligible in internal medicine and eligible for an unrestricted license to practice medicine the State of Maryland. This position requires a medical degree from a recognized accredited domestic university (or foreign equivalent), a strong commitment to patient care and teaching, and the ability to work well in a team setting. Experience in practice management and administration is strongly desired. Expected faculty rank is Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. Hospitalists for the Division of General Internal Medicine (3-309-1069)

The Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting full time hospitalists. These positions will provide inpatient attending coverage on our non-teaching services. Duties include staffing of our observation unit, general internal medicine non-teaching service, and transplant medicine services, as well as providing medical consultations for general medicine, transplant medicine, and co-management of surgical services. Please indicate in your response if you have a special interest in transplant medicine. Opportunities for full-time nocturnists are also available.

Hospitalists for the Division of General Internal Medicine (3-309-1071)

The Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting full time hospitalists to work at our Midtown location.  These positions will provide inpatient attending coverage on our teaching and non-teaching services. Duties include attending responsibilities on the Intermediate Care Unit, general medical wards, and Post-Acute Unit. The hospitalist will be responsible for co-management of post-op patients, consultation on the inpatient Psychiatry Unit, and staffing non-designated service patients.

Candidates must be board certified/eligible in internal medicine and eligible for an unrestricted license in the State of Maryland.  All positions require a medical degree from an accredited university, a strong commitment to high quality patient care, interest in teaching residents and students, and the ability to work well in a team setting.  We offer competitive salary and benefits.

Clinician Educator (3-309-1075):

The Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting a full-time internist for our growing programs. Clinical responsibilities include participation in our faculty group practice with eleven other internists, medical student teaching, and supervision of residents in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This position will also provide inpatient attending on our general medical service and will assist in development of effective and timely follow-up for patients recently seen in the emergency room and admitted to the hospital. Research opportunity pathways also available for qualified candidates. 

Candidates must be board certified/eligible in internal medicine and eligible for an unrestricted license in the State of Maryland. This position also requires a medical degree from a recognized accredited domestic university (or foreign equivalent), a strong commitment to patient care and teaching, and the ability to work well in a team setting. Expected faculty rank is Assistant Professor or higher, however, rank, tenure status and salary will be dependent upon selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.
