Clinical Cardiology Intensivist (3-309-1105)

The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting a board-certified intensivist to join our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CICU) team.  The Intensivist will manage cardiac and vascular patients within our closed CICU. Expected faculty rank is Assistant Professor or higher on a clinical educator pathway, however, final rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Clinical responsibilities include multidisciplinary rounding of intensive care patients within our 15-bed CICU. The intensivist will supervise the 24/7 advance practitioner team during the day and provide at-home coverage at night. The physician will collaborate closely with our surgery, cardiology, and anesthesiology partners for bedside care as well as programmatic development. Non-clinical duties include quality improvement, optimizing delivery of care, development of a clinical research program and education of staff.

Ideal applicants will have specialized training and expertise in the care of complex cardiac patients. Experience in cardiothoracic surgery and vascular surgery patients is a plus. Dual trained applicants may have the option of splitting clinical duties with other disciplines. 

This position requires a MD degree from a recognized accredited university (or foreign equivalent) and candidates must be eligible for an unrestricted Maryland medical license, be board certified in critical care medicine and board certified/board eligible in cardiovascular medicine.  The individual we seek will have a commitment to clinical excellence and broad cognitive and technical skills in the critical care setting. The ideal candidate will have experience with cardiac surgery and vascular surgery patients and be expected to participate in cardiology CICU programs at the University of Maryland Medical Center (downtown campus).

Clinical Cardiologist (3-309-1106)

The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting a cardiologist excited to develop and grow a collaborative, multidisciplinary Cardiovascular Prevention Program.  The cardiologist will deliver clinical cardiology services in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. Intrinsic to the role, the cardiologist will train medical students, residents, and cardiovascular fellows.  Deep expertise in echocardiography, TEE and stress echo is required.  Expected faculty rank is Assistant Professor or higher on a clinical educator pathway, however, final rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Clinical Cardiologist (03-309-1017)

The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting a general cardiologist to teach and provide clinical cardiology services in both the inpatient and outpatient settings at the Assistant Professor level on a clinical educator pathway. The Division is seeking a dynamic cardiovascular medicine physician primarily based at its Midtown Campus.

The role of this cardiologist would be to change the trajectory of health in an underserved population by promoting cardiovascular wellness among patients in the City of Baltimore.  Additional interest in healthcare disparities, access to care, and quality improvement initiatives is highly desirable. This mission includes a strong focus on community outreach.

Expertise in echocardiography, including TEE and stress echo is required. This physician will see outpatients and inpatients at the University of Maryland Midtown Campus. The cardiologist will also have service time at the Downtown Campus as teaching attending on the Primary Cardiology Service as well as the Cardiology Consult service.
