Clinical Cardiologist 3-309-991: The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting a full-time general cardiologist. The primary focus will be ambulatory outpatient and inpatient cardiology at an outreach site, however the position will also include a role in the echocardiography (echo) and teaching programs at the main campus. The individual we seek will demonstrate potential for excellence in clinical care and teaching of cardiology fellows, residents and medical students. Expertise in echo, including TEE and stress echo is required. Experience with 3D TEE for structural interventions is preferred. The ideal candidate would also be certified in nuclear cardiology.

Expected faculty rank is Assistant Professor or higher on a clinical educator pathway, however, final rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.  The University of Maryland Health System represents a dynamic, regional cardiovascular network that spans the Baltimore and Washington DC capital region, and ranks among the nations very best in cardiac care.

Clinical Co-Director, Cardiovascular Medicine (3-309-1019): The Department of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine invites nominations and applications for a clinical cardiologist to co-direct our Cardiovascular Medicine Division.  This position will be responsible for the overall clinical direction of the Division and for fostering highly collaborative efforts with our clinical partners across the University of Maryland Medical System.  

Successful candidates will focus on service lines to enhance the local, regional and national reputation of the division and will grow procedure volumes and market share for cardiology patient services.  Ideal candidates will possess outstanding clinical skills with a strong commitment and experience in patient care and teaching, as well as a history of successful clinical research.  We expect that this position will participate in all aspects of the clinical cardiology programs at the University of Maryland Medical Center (downtown and midtown campuses) and the Baltimore VA Medical Center, and also anticipate that this position will encourage and promote commercialization of technology, as well as increase clinical research activities.

Advanced Heart Failure, Mechanical Circulatory Support and Heart Transplant Program (3-309-1031): As part of the University of Maryland School of Medicine’s Heart Failure program expansion, the Department of Medicine’s Cardiovascular Medicine Division is actively recruiting a full-time Associate/Assistant-level professor to help grow our extensive clinical programs in heart failure, cardiac transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support, and contribute to the scientific mission of the University.  It is expected that the candidate, with mentorship, will develop a research portfolio with extramural funding.  

Our advanced heart failure section is nationally known with an excellent track record in cutting edge mechanical circulatory support, heart transplant and in advanced heart failure. The University of Maryland Division of Cardiovascular and Maryland Heart Center are home to some of the brightest minds in the world in medical and surgical management of heart failure. The heart failure program is nationally recognized with an extended patient referral base.

This position requires a MD degree from a recognized accredited university (or foreign equivalent) and all candidates must be eligible for an unrestricted Maryland medical license.  Fellowship training in advanced heart failure, as well as a proven record in research, clinical care and teaching is required.  Existing extramural funding support is important but not mandatory for the right candidate.

Clinical Cardiologist (03-309-1017) - The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting a general cardiologist to teach and provide clinical cardiology services in both the inpatient and outpatient settings at the Assistant Professor level on a clinical educator pathway.  Expertise in echocardiography, including TEE and stress echo is required.  Additional interest in healthcare disparities, access to care and quality improvement initiatives is desirable.  The ideal candidate will be expected to participate in all aspects of echocardiography, general cardiology and academic programs at the University of Maryland Medical Center with a primary focus on providing and optimizing clinical care and teaching at the Midtown Campus.

This position requires a MD degree from a recognized accredited university (or foreign equivalent) and candidates must be eligible for an unrestricted Maryland medical license, be board certified in internal medicine and board certified/board eligible in cardiovascular medicine.  The individual we seek will have fellowship training in cardiology with an emphasis on echocardiography and will demonstrate potential for excellence in clinical care and teaching.
