Brief Summary of Research Project:

I study the epidemiology of asymptomatic and symptomatic Plasmodium falciparum infections in Malawi. My research focuses on the association between the number of distinct parasite clones in a given infection (multiplicity of infection) and clinical malaria disease. My research contributes to understanding parasite population diversity in Malawi and how multiplicity of infection could be used to evaluate the impact of malaria control efforts.
