Alumni Give Back
“We believe giving back is a responsibility. To be able to fulfill this obligation exactly how we envisioned is a true gift. And we sincerely hope that this gesture will inspire other alumni to personally contribute to the advancement of medical education.” - Carolyn J. Pass, MD and Richard M. Susel, MD (Class of 1966)
By giving to the University of Maryland School of Medicine, our alumni show their appreciation to the alma mater that gave them top notch faculty, outstanding programs, and lifelong friendships. These gifts demonstrate their pride and belief in the strength of the institution’s two hundred year legacy of leadership in medical education, and enable current students to benefit from the same excellent education that they experienced.
It’s not just absence that makes the heart grow fonder. Distance and time can contribute, too, especially when it comes to thoughts of one’s medical school alma mater. "I have developed such very fond memories of my experience at the UMSOM that I decided now was the right time to show my gratitude and give back," says David E. Kelley, MD, ’78, who with his wife recently established the Carol and David Kelley, MD Endowed Scholarship at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Learn more
"I chose University of Maryland School of Medicine, in part, because of this scholarship, but also because of its reputation for patient care and engaging the community," says Jessica Lee ’21, the Arnold S.
