Public Health Research at Maryland (PHRM)

Our Ninth Annual Conference took place via Zoom, April 7, 2022.

The annual conference showcases innovations in public health research and practice and their implications for the health of our Maryland communities. It is made possible by a partnership between the University of Maryland School of Public Health (in College Park) and the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health at the University of Maryland School of Medicine (in Baltimore). This year's conference included a co-keynote conversation, three panels, and an opportunity to view a student poster gallery.

Keynote Speakers

We were honored to welcome Dr. Joseph Wright and Dr. Roderick King, both from the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS), as co-keynote speakers at the ninth annual PHRM Conference. As key leaders at UMMS, they are focused on diversity, inclusion, and equity.

During the co-keynote conversation, they shared their insights and expertise about these essential values and how they align with public health. The conversation also delved into potential ways to align and complement current and future efforts in these areas as we all work “locally” for a global impact.
