Platform Party and Faculty Members do not need to pick up a ticket in advance.

Regalia

  • Orders must be placed online here prior to 11:59 pm on March 27, 2024. Pricing can be found on the ordering website.
  • The regalia will be shipped to the UMB bookstore at the SMC Campus Center, and will need to be picked up from there. Pick up details are on the ordering website.
  • Rental regalia is not eligible for a refund once the order ships.
  • After the ceremony, regalia should be returned to the UMB bookstore at the SMC Campus Center by June 15, 2024.

Arrival Details

Platform Party and Faculty Members should arrive via the Hippodrome’s Stage Door at 412 W. Baltimore St.

Platform Party Arrival Time: 11:30 am – 12:00 pm

Faculty Arrival Time: 12:00 pm – 12:30 pm (this arrival time applies to those not on the Platform Party)

Keynote Speaker

Martine Rothblatt Ph.D., J.D., M.B.A.

Dr. Rothblatt founded United Therapeutics in 1996 and has served as Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer since its inception. Previously, she created the satellite radio company SiriusXM. She is an inventor or co-inventor on nine U.S. patents, with additional applications pending. Her pioneering book, Your Life or Mine: How Geoethics Can Resolve the Conflict Between Private and Public Interests in Xenotransplantation, anticipated the need both for global virus bio-surveillance and a greatly expanded supply of transplantable organs.

Dr. Rothblatt has also analyzed the socio-ethical issues of human-like cyber competencies, as are emerging from large language models, in her 2014 book Virtually Human.


Parking

Parking will be available at the Baltimore Grand Garage (5 N. Paca St.), next to the Hippodrome. Carpooling is encouraged. This is a UMB Garage. Hourly parking rates will apply. If you have a parking pass at another garage, it will not work at this garage for Graduation. Please note that there is no direct elevator access from the garage to the venue.
