The 2017 Faculty Promotion Reception was held on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 in the Weinberg Round Room.
This year the department honored the following faculty:

- Brian Polster, PhD: Awarding of Tenure
- Marta Lipinski, PhD: Promotion to Associate Professor
- Michael Mazzeffi, MD, MPH: Promotion to Associate Professor
- Boris Sabirzhanov, PhD: Promotion to Associate Professor
