Summer Jobs & Awards
It can be difficult to find jobs, fellowships, etc. for the summer, particularly in medically related areas. If you are interested in summer employment or awards, late in the previous year is not too early to begin looking. In fact, for some positions, applications must be filed by January or February.
Look on school e-mail and bulletin boards, ask professors and your advisors, check with contacts you have made the past few years, inquire at the National Institutes of Health, consider applying to the Short Term Research Training Program, or check the Personnel Office in the Administration Building. You might also wish to write the Civil Service for its Summer Jobs bulletin or visit their Baltimore Office in the Garmatz Federal Building, 101 West Lombard Street, a ten-minute walk from the school.
Although the Office of Student Affairs does not formally serve as a source of summer job information, members of the staff may know of individual opportunities, especially in research with members of the faculty.
