IMET at the Columbus Center

The Program is a component of the Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology (IMET), a research facility of the University System of Maryland located at the Columbus Center near the University of Maryland School of Medicine, at Pier V of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. IMET is a collaborative effort between the University of Maryland School of Medicine, the University of Maryland Baltimore County, and the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science. IMET was created by the Board of Regents of the University System of Maryland on July 1, 2010. While the PBMS maintains a unique mission and identity, and its members are faculty at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, the interdisciplinary nature of the research with our other IMET investigators, and the use of common expertise and facilities, leads to synergism at the Columbus Center that is well suited for the research objectives.
