Graduate Education

Faculty in the Program in the Biology of Model Systems at the Columbus Center are active in graduate education and mentoring.

Ph.D. and M.S. degrees are available through the University of Maryland Baltimore, School of Medicine, Graduate Program in Life Sciences (GPILS). Programs of study leading to degrees in Molecular Medicine (Track in Molecular Genetics, Genomics, and Bioinformatics), Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, and Molecular Microbiology and Immunology are available.  Program faculty directs the Track in Molecular Genetics, Genomics, and Bioinformatics, and contributes to courses in ‘Mechanisms in Biomedical Sciences’, ‘Applied Bioinformatics’ and ‘Molecular Genetics and Development in Model Systems’.

The University of Maryland System-wide Program in Marine, Estuarine, and Environmental Sciences (MEES) offers both Ph.D. and M.S. degrees with an area of specialization in Environmental Molecular Biology.
