Academic & Clinical Facilities
The Master's in Genetic Counseling Program at the University of Maryland, Baltimore campus is located minutes from Baltimore’s professional baseball (Orioles' Park at Camden Yards) and football stadium (M&T Bank Stadium and Baltimore's Inner Harbor. Core courses are taught within the University of Maryland Medical Center and School of Medicine facilities. Students can choose electives within the University's Graduate School and Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Social Work and Law.
Students can take full advantage of our University-based medical center by attending departmental grand rounds, case conferences, seminars, lectures and other events.
Laboratory rotations are conducted within the biochemical, molecular, and cytogenetic laboratories of the University of Maryland Medical Center. Students attend clinical rotations at the University of Maryland Medical Center and other genetic centers within the Baltimore/Washington area.
The Program has computer-based tutorials and databases, textbooks, and other resources available to our students including Internet and email access through campus and Program computer networks. In addition, students have access to other computer centers on campus as well as the new state of the art Health Sciences and Human Services Library.
