Part-Time/Per Diem Nocturnist-Hospitalists

The Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting part-time nocturnist-hospitalists. These positions will provide inpatient overnight attending coverage for our transplant medicine service and our non-teaching general medicine service.  Responsibilities include coverage of, but not limited to, our non-teaching general medicine service, transplant medicine service, medical consultation service, and co-management of surgical services. Please indicate in your response if you have a special interest in transplant medicine. 

Current hospitalists performing this role are generalists and do not need specific training or experience in transplant medicine.  Candidates must be board certified/eligible in internal medicine and eligible for an unrestricted license in the State of Maryland. These positions require a medical degree from a recognized accredited domestic university (or foreign equivalent), a strong commitment to patient care and teaching, and the ability to work well in a team setting.

Rank and salary will be commensurate with the selected candidate's qualifications and experience. We offer a competitive rate.

Academic Hospitalist (Position number 03-309-971)

The Division of General Internal Medicine in the Department of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine has an opening for an academic hospitalist at the University of Maryland Medical Center-Midtown Campus beginning early November, 2018.  This service provides 24/7 coverage for inpatient medicine floors at our affiliated hospital located in downtown Baltimore.  The bulk of the service will be in a teaching capacity with UMMC Midtown Campus house-staff, as well as non-teaching attending responsibilities on the Post-Acute Unit, Orthopedic pre-op evaluation, consultation on the inpatient Psychiatry Unit, and non-designated service patients.

Candidates must be board certified/board eligible in Internal Medicine and eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Maryland.  Ideal candidates will possess outstanding clinical and teaching skills and a strong committment to patient care.  Expected faculty rank is Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with the selected candidate's qualifications and experience.

Hospitalist for the Division of General Internal Medicine (3-309-988)

The Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting a full time Intermediate Care Hospitalist.  This service provided 24/7 inpatient coverage and serves to expedite transfers from our acute care units, the Emergency Department and the Medical Intensive Care Unit.  The IMC team helps to reduce length of stay in the ER and on the acute services, costs per case and re-admission rates, as well as increase admissions to the medical service, free up beds in the intensive care unit for more critically ill patients, ensure that 80-hour weekly limit on duty hours is enforced for residents, and direct admissions as needed.  While this is a non-teaching service, opportunities are available for teaching. 

Candidates must be board certified/eligible in internal medicine and eligible for an unrestricted license in the State of Maryland.  This position also requires a medical degree from a recognized accredited domestic university (or foreign equivalent), a strong commitment to patient care and teaching, and the ability to work well in a team setting.
