Physician Scientist (Position 03-309-722)

The Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology, University of Maryland School of Medicine and the Baltimore Veterans Affairs Medical Center (BVAMC) is recruiting a full-time board-certified (Internal Medicine and GI) physician scientist with a federally-funded research program. Candidates must have a strong record of research creativity and productivity. The successful candidate must possess clinical and endoscopic skills to supervise and teach fellows. Publications in high-impact journals and NIH funding are required. Space and start-up funds will be proportionate to the strength of the applicant’s research program. Additional funding for research fellows, doctoral candidates and post-doctoral trainees is available through the division’s NIDDK T32 Training Grant. Academic rank, tenure status, and salary will be commensurate with experience.  This position requires a medical degree from a recognized accredited university (or foreign equivalent), and candidates must be eligible for an unrestricted Maryland medical license.  Expected faculty rank for this position is Associate Professor or higher, however, final rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.


Hepatology Director (Position 3-309-885)

We seek a full-time, board-certified experienced Hepatologist as Director of our academic Hepatology Program at the University of Maryland Medical Center and Midtown Campuses. Candidates must have GI and Hepatology training, liver transplant experience, strong clinical and endoscopic skills, and the motivation to expand our liver program.  This position requires a medical degree from a recognized accredited university (or foreign equivalent), and candidates must be eligible for an unrestricted Maryland medical license.  Expected faculty rank for this position is Associate Professor or higher, however, final rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.


Academic Hepatologist (Position 3-309-887)

The Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at the University of Maryland Medical Center and Midtown Campus, and the Baltimore Veterans Affairs Medical Center (BVAMC) seeks a full-time, BC/BE Hepatologist. Candidates must have GI, Hepatology, and Liver Transplant Training, strong clinical, endoscopic, and teaching skills, and the motivation to increase our referral base. This position requires a medical degree from a recognized accredited university (or foreign equivalent), and candidates must be eligible for an unrestricted Maryland medical license.  Expected faculty rank for this position is Assisant Professor or higher, however, final rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.


Academic Gastroenterologists (Positions 3-309-892/893)

The Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at the University of Maryland Medical Center and Midtown Campus, and the Baltimore Veterans Affairs Medical Center (BVAMC) seek are seeking two full-time, BC/BE Gastroenterologists. These positions require a medical degree from a recognized accredited university (or foreign equivalent), and candidates must be eligible for an unrestricted Maryland license. The successful candidates will possess clinical and personal skills to facilitate outpatient and inpatient consultation, teaching of fellows, and supervision of NPs and PAs. Qualified candidates will be skilled in routine endoscopic procedures. Expected faculty rank for these positions is Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank, tenure status and salary will be commensurate with selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Academic Hepatologist (Position 3-309-933)

The Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at the University of Maryland Medical Center seeks a full-time, BC/BE hepatologist to work at our downtown location, as well as affiliate locations. This position requires a medical degree from a recognized accredited university (or foreign equivalent), and candidates must be eligible for an unrestricted Maryland medical license. Candidates must have GI, Hepatology, and Liver Transplant Training, strong clinical, endoscopic, and teaching skills, and the motivation to increase our referral base.  This position requires a medical degree from a recognized accredited university (or foreign equivalent), and candidates must be eligible for an unrestricted Maryland medical license.  Expected faculty rank is Assistant Professor or higher, however, rank, tenure status and salary will be dependent on selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.
