Accelerated BS or BA with a Public Health Minor from Goucher College to Master of Public Health

Establishing this collaborative program enables the two institutions of high learning to offer a unique opportunity to students whose career goals and interests are in public health. This program facilitates the transfer and degree completion of students earning the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science with a minor in Public Health at Goucher College to the MPH.

To obtain a Public Health Minor at Goucher College, students must earn a minimum of 24 credits. The Public Health Minor Program allows students to apply two to three specified UMB MPH courses toward their required Public Health Minor Program curriculum. Those courses apply toward the MPH Program allowing accelerated completion of the MPH degree. To obtain the MPH degree, students must earn a total of 42-credit hours, including the courses taken as an advanced standing Public Health Minor student.    

When is the MPH application deadline and how do I apply?

Applicants must ensure that all of the application elements are submitted by April 15th of the student’s junior year of undergraduate school. Applicants must submit a supplemental application and supporting materials.  Follow the instructions below. 

Supplemental application:

Create a login and select MPH - Accelerated Undergraduate. This application is submitted online. In addition to the detailed application information questions within the supplemental application, the following will be requested:

  • Supplemental application fee (Paid by credit card or by submitting a check made out to the University of Maryland Baltimore in the amount of $50)
  • Curriculum Vitae/Resume
  • Statement of Purpose and Objectives (Personal statement)
