Medical Education

The University of Maryland School of Medicine provides an unparalleled combination of educational resources to prepare students for careers as physicians, biomedical researchers, and allied health professionals. The School of Medicine also provides graduate, doctoral and post-doctoral training through a wide range of programs in the biomedical sciences and public health.

All faculty members actively participate in the education of medical students and residents on a campus that is home to world class clinical care and research facilities, including: The University of Maryland Medical Center, the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, the Institute of Human Virology, the Institute for Genome Sciences, the Center for Vaccine Development and the Baltimore VA Medical Center. Clinical affiliations throughout the state give students unusual flexibility in clinical experiences and numerous opportunities for community service.
