Mini-Med School

The University of Maryland School of Medicine has offered Mini-Med School annually since the fall of 2001. Our purpose is to educate our West Baltimore neighbors about specific health conditions that affect them such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, stroke, asthma, breast cancer, and prostate cancer, and on topics that illustrate advances in medical technology. Additionally, we give community members the tools they need to identify risk factors, live a healthier lifestyle and if necessary, get treatment. Classes are held on five consecutive Wednesday evenings each fall at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, 685 West Baltimore Street, Baltimore, MD. School of Medicine faculty teach the course, which is free of charge and on a first-come, first-served basis.
