Center for Infant Study
The Center for Infant Study specializes in psychiatric services for infants ages 0-3 years "at risk" for mental health and social problems. Children and their families burdened by problems such as separation, anxiety, attachment and eating disorders, language delays, depression, stress, death, divorce and violence receive therapeutic services by a multi-disciplinary mental health team. The Center's satellite, a therapeutic nursery program in a Headstart Center provides similar services for pre-school children 3-5 years of age at risk for psychosocial and educational problems. Special intensive services are provided to children from Baltimore City ages 0-5 who have been victims of sexual abuse. Services included crisis intervention, developmental guidance support for parents, psychotherapy, case management services, instruction in parenting strategy and improving the safety of the child.
