Biosketch

Dr. Chasm is a nationally recognized leader in the field of quality assurance and risk management in Emergency Medicine, with a specialized interest in pediatric emergency medicine. As a director of pediatric quality and risk for the University of Maryland Emergency Medicine Network, she oversees the care provided to pediatric patients in seventeen different Emergency Departments throughout the state. She is board-certified in both Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics.

Dr. Chasm has lectured around the country, published numerous journal articles and book chapters, and served as co-director of the Combined Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics Residency at the University of Maryland. She has authored guidelines for the management of pediatric patients presenting with acute appendicitis, asthma exacerbations, diabetic ketoacidosis, head trauma, and sepsis. Among her priorities, is to ensure that our physicians continue to provide the highest level of care to all patients presenting to our various Emergency Departments.
