2017 Resident and Fellows Graduation
On June 2, 2017, the Department of Anesthesiology hosted the 2017 Resident and Fellows Graduation Ceremony at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel. Faculty, staff, residents, fellows, family and friends convened to wish the resident and fellow graduates congratulations and good luck on the next step in their medical careers.

Incoming 2017-18 Chief Residents Drs. Camron Wipfli, Nathalie Peiris and Srikar Jonna emcee the resident farewell part of the evening. The Chief Residents start the presentations by giving out Oscar-like superlatives called the “Roscars” to the graduating residents.

The Chief Residents also awarded some special Roscars...
Dr. Srikar Jonna presents the Roscar for “The Life Coach” to Dr. Ken Koerner by the residents for most likely to give good life advice.
The Roscar for “Too Cool for School” is awarded to Dr. Aaron Lange by the residents for the attending they would most likely want to hang out with outside of work.
The Roscar for “Night Owl” is awarded to Dr. Ileana Gheorghiu by the residents for most likely to perform best in the middle of the night with little sleep.
The Roscar for “Silver Apple” is awarded to Dr. Omar Alyamani (graduating fellow in Obstetric Anesthesiology) for always being a patient teacher to the residents.
